What is the $0 COST OTC BENEFITS?

Eligible Members receive a monthly over-the-counter allowance that ranges from $20 to $100 each month, based on plan selection. Over-the-counter drugs are medicines that you can buy without a prescription. They are used for the treatment of minor health problems. They are safe and effective when you follow the directions on the label and as directed by your health care professional.  Products are for member use only, not for use by others (friends, family members, etc.).

A preset allowance / amount of money that will be provided through the OTC Benefit to purchase OTC medications which are trusted as a first line of defense in treating minor ailments, help reduce doctor visits and save you money.

Currently Optimum Health Care Medicare Advantage Plans  have an online program that allows their members to take advantage of their OTC benefit. The OTC online program makes it possible for their current eligible plan members to easily order items using their home delivery services. Members who are eligible for this health benefit program are able to order over-the-counter products online from the comfort of home by going online, calling an order in or mailing it in. With this supplement benefit, their members can order items such as:

  • Cough and cold allergy medicines
  • Vitamins
  • Medicines for the eyes
  • Pain medicine
  • Products for the stomach and bowel
  • First aid care
  • Hygiene products
  • Mosquito spray
  • Mouth and teeth cleansing products
  • Skin care

These products are all provided at no extra cost when part of an eligible plan. They simply use credits / a pre-determined allowance provided under the benefit.   3. Type in your First and Last name in the fields provided.
  4. Type in a valid email address in the fields provided.
  5. Input your Date of Birth in the field provided.
  6. Type in your Member ID in the field provided.
  7. Type in the Last 4 Characters of Medicare ID/MBI Number in the field provided.
  8. Type in your Registration Code in the field provided.
  9. Click on the blue “Next Page” button.
  10. Continue to move forward and provide all the required information until you receive a successful registration confirmation.

If you successfully registered you will receive an email verification showing that all is good with your registration. You will now have full access to your online account and can begin taking advantage of the Optimum HealthCare Inc. OTC online pharmacy benefits that your plan includes if you qualify.

  • Once you are logged into Member Portal, please click on ‘Over The Counter/Diabetic Supplies’ menu option.
  • On the ‘Order Placement – Member’ Page, select the Product Name from the drop down option. Item Number, Medicine Group, Description and Drug type will be automatically displayed. Select Order quantity and click the “Submit” button.

Below are the steps you will need to follow to login to a current account:

  1. Visit: in your internet browser on your device.
  2. Type in your Email Address in the field provided.
  3. Type in your current Password in the field provided.
  4. Click on the red “Secure Log In” button.
