Most of the their Medicare plans will come with over-the-counter medications and health & wellness products coverage. If your plan has the OTC benefit, you will receive a specified dollar amount to spend each quarter for a $0 copay. The items you can spend this allowance on can be found using the online program created by their network mail-order provider.

The OTC products are shipped free directly to eligible members. Local sales tax may added to the order total and deducted from the credit balance. The sales tax is based on the address of the member and will vary by parish.

Included with your OTC benefit is access to the Healthy Savings Program. Save on fresh produce, lean meats, yogurt, eggs and more from over 200 healthy food brands. The OTC online program makes it possible for millions of current eligible plan members to easily order items using their home delivery services. Members who are eligible for this health benefit program are able to order over-the-counter products online from the comfort of home by going online, calling an order in or mailing it in. With this supplement benefit, their members can order items such as:

DO YOU QUALIFY?

You will need to make sure you check your plan’s Summary of Benefits of your personal current plan to confirm if a plan offers this benefit. If it does, you must also check the plan’s specific OTC allowance frequency, as it can be either monthly or quarterly. The allowance amount varies and depends on the plan. You may call the number provided at the beginning of this article for direction.

Only some plans include a quarterly allowance. The credits can be used to pay for select over-the-counter medications and supplies, including allergy medication, digestive health treatments, first aid supplies, pain relievers, and more.   3. Type in your Healthy Benefits Plus Member Card Number in the field provided.
  4. Type in your zip code in the field provided.
  5. Type in your date of birth in the field provided.
  6. Click on the green “CONTINUE” button.
  7. Continue to move forward and provide all the required information until you receive a successful registration confirmation.

If you successfully registered you will receive an email verification showing that all is good with your registration. You will now have full access to your online account and can begin taking advantage of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Kansas City Blue Medicare Advantage Healthy Benefits Plus OTC online pharmacy benefits that your plan includes if you qualify.

Below are the steps you will need to follow to login to a current account:

  1. Visit: www.healthybenefitsplus.com/bluekcmaotc in your internet browser on your device.
  2. Click on the “Log In” link located in the upper right hand corner.
  3. Type in your Email Address in the field provided.
  4. Type in your current Password in the field provided.
  5. Click on the green “LOG IN” button.
  6. Begin managing your online account.

View all eligible products online or with the Healthy Benefits Plus mobile app anytime. After you choose the items you want to buy you will be directed to Walmart.com to build your basket and complete your purchase.

When you are ready to check out, select the Gift Card payment option and enter your 17-digit account number and 4-digit security code on the back of your card. If your card balance does not cover the cost of all items or you have non-approved items in your cart, you will be asked to enter another card number to pay for the remaining balance.

Find a store or participating location:

You can shop at many participating stores to redeem your OTC Benefits and Food Savings. Use the store finder, you can toggle between participating stores for each benefit.
