This facility was founded in 1811 but the OBGYN Department began in 1891. Today, the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology offers the following types of programs and services available:

  • Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Center (MIGS) which offers surgical care across all gynecologic disciplines including general gynecology, pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, hysterectomies, reproductive medicine and urogynecology.

  • Obstetrics Program which offers state-of-the-art, individualized care for women before, during and after childbirth.
  • Placenta Accreta Program which offers specialized, multidisciplinary care for pregnant women with placenta accreta and related placental complications.

  • Ultrasound & Prenatal Diagnostics Center which offers state-of-the-art ultrasound and prenatal diagnostic testing and care, providing a clear picture of your baby’s health before birth.
  • Vulvovaginal Disorders Program which offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment for women with vulvar and vaginal complaints, including pain, infection and irritation.
